About the Event
This season of giving is an opportune time to turn our attention to those less fortunate than us. As Masons, we are taught of virtues that "the greatest of these is charity; for faith is lost in sight, hope ends in fruition, but charity extends beyond the grave, through the boundless realms of eternity."
We have an incredible opportunity to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank and assist in their mission to "provide dignified, equitable, and consistent access to nutritious food to those in Orange County" by donating our time and effort to helping the planting, harvesting, weeding and maintaining the farm fields on the Harvest Solutions Farm at their off-site location in Irvine. We are currently scheduled for two weekends in January: January 7th and 21st. If you are interested in participating, you need to register as a volunteer through this link:

A few items of note:
- We are scheduled for two weekends in January: January 7th and 21st.
- Hours for volunteers working the farm are 7:30 am-11:00 am (3.5 Hours).
- All volunteers MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 7:15 am; this is a "HARD START."
- All volunteers shall wear sturdy work shoes and bring their own gloves, hats, etc.
- The work will be directed by the volunteer coordinator (with Second Harvest).
- Depending on turn out we will decide on scheduling additional months for the rest of 2023.
Monetary charity isn't the only kind of charity. It is arguably insufficient to qualify as extending beyond the grave through the boundless realms of eternity. Charity can take many forms, from "the visit to the sick..The brotherly hand laid upon a bowed shoulder in comfort and to give courage...the word of counsel to the fatherless, the tear dropped in sympathy to the widowed, the joyous letter of congratulations to a fortunate brother, all are Masonic charity - and these, indeed, extend beyond the grave." - Carl H. Claudy.
